Tax File Number (TFN)

A Tax File Number (TFN) is a unique identifier issued by the Australian Tax Office (ATO). It’s crucial for managing your tax affairs and ensuring correct deductions from your wages. Apply for your TFN promptly upon arrival in Australia via the ATO website.

If you haven’t received your TFN before starting work, contact the ATO at 13 28 61. Please provide your TFN to HLH within 28 days to avoid higher tax deductions.

Superannuation

Superannuation (super) is mandatory retirement savings contributed by your employer in addition to your wages. To join a super fund, we recommend becoming a member of CBUS Super or through your bank’s super fund options.

During induction, ensure you provide HLH with your Super Fund Account Name, Super Fund Member Number, and Unique Super Identifier for seamless contributions.

Astute Payroll and Timesheets

Log your daily hours through our Astute portal and submit your timesheet weekly. Remember to include all breaks taken during your shifts. Timesheets must be submitted by 10am on Monday to ensure timely payment. You’ll receive your payslip every Thursday via email, with wages processed the same day and deposited into your account.

Personal Details and Compliance

Update your personal, banking, superannuation, and taxation details on the Profile page in Astute. Correctly complete the tax table by selecting either WHV or Australian resident status to avoid delays in payment.

Safety and Compliance

Ensure you wear the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on site, including a hard hat, hi-vis top and safety boots. Additional PPE may be required depending on the site’s specific safety protocols.

Work Health and Safety (WHS)

Work Healty and Safety is vital for HLH and in case of any incidents while working, promptly report to your site supervisor and account manager. They will guide you through the incident reporting process for proper investigation and documentation.
